FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

The questions we hear most, plus what accountants and managers ask after that. Is your question not here? Just ask us.

The basics

What accountants and entrepreneurs ask us most often before they start.

When does an e-Box message count as received?

The moment it becomes accessible in your e-Box, even if nobody reads it. The deadline starts running on the first working day after that, and the reminder that follows later does not pause it. That is why official messages belong in a mailbox that opens every day.

Can I really no longer miss a message?

Every message that appears in your e-Box or MyMinfin sits in your mailbox shortly after, document included. What you can still miss is what you would miss with your regular mail too. Checking the portal yourself is no longer needed.

Is e-Box Enterprise actually mandatory?

Its use becomes mandatory in the course of 2026 for every organisation with a company number, as stated in the federal coalition agreement. Three quarters of employers have already activated the e-Box, and services like FPS Finance and FPS Employment send more and more messages digitally only, including registered mail.

Who keeps control over the messages?

You do. You decide which mailboxes receive messages and which type of message goes to which address, and you adjust it yourself whenever you want. The messages themselves simply remain in e-Box Enterprise as well.

Does this add another archive?

Not with Easy-Ebox: we keep no copy of your messages. Your own mailbox becomes your archive by itself, and that is needed. The e-Box is not an archive: the government deletes a message there after two to three years.

Can I stop whenever I want?

Yes. You can cancel at any time. The messages you received until then sit in your own mailbox and stay there.

Is this official government software?

No. Easy-Ebox is independent Belgian software that works with the official e-Box Enterprise platform. The messages themselves stay official and do not change; you just read them somewhere else.

How does the free pilot phase work?

Easy-Ebox is in its pilot phase. For as long as it runs you use it free, no credit card needed, and you stop whenever you want. There is no fixed number of free months. After that, it costs 5 euros per month per linked company.

Asked further

Four questions that come up once it is about multiple files, mandates and cancelling.

I am an accountant managing files for clients. Does that work too?

Easy-Ebox works per company. You connect a company’s e-Box Enterprise and choose which address its messages go to, for example your firm’s file management instead of a mailbox at the client. What you need to set that up for a client depends on the access and mandates you already have with that client today. Forwarding does not replace a legal mandate to act on the client’s behalf; it only settles who reads the messages. Ask us for your firm, and we will look at it together.

I have several companies. Can I follow them together?

You connect each company separately, with its own e-Box Enterprise, and you choose per company which mailbox the messages go to. The files stay separated, even when the same person follows them. Each linked company costs 5 euros per month; three companies are therefore fifteen.

What happens to my messages if I cancel?

Easy-Ebox stops checking your channels and forwards nothing more. The messages you received until then sit in your own mailbox and stay there. There is nothing to retrieve from us, because there is no extra archive. Nothing changes in e-Box Enterprise.

Which messages does Easy-Ebox pick up?

FPS Finance, social security, justice, your payroll office: whoever writes to you in your e-Box or MyMinfin today lands in your mailbox from now on. Easy-Ebox picks up the two channels you otherwise have to log in to separately: e-Box Enterprise and MyMinfin.
